Deep inside the Dragon’s Teeth mountains, there is an active volcano where a legendary Red Dragon named Ignis makes his home. Right at the hottest part of the volcano's core, the lava gets so packed with ancient dragon magic that it turns into a thick, glowing crimson mist instead of melting rock.

A brave tiefling paladin wanted to forge a weapon that could channel this heat. She snuck into the volcano while Ignis was sleeping and captured pieces of the thick red mist inside seven chunks of pure, heat-proof mountain quartz. To seal the dragon's fiery energy inside, she used cursed obsidian ink to etch the numbers into the sides, creating the exact look you see.
