Far off the treacherous coast of the Broken Reaches, where the Elemental Plane of Water clashes violently with the Plane of Air, lies a perpetual storm known to sailors as the Abyssal Squall. Ships that venture too close are rarely seen again, swallowed by towering indigo waves, churning sea foam, and dark, shadowy trenches below.

Legend tells of Captain James Vane, a legendary mariner who sailed straight into the heart of the squall to claim a mythical sea-god’s relic. In the storm's core, the ocean was suspended in time—crashing waves frozen into glass, dark ocean beds trapped beneath swirling azure whirlpools, and sea foam suspended mid-churn.

Before his ship was claimed by the deep, Vane carved seven geometric prisms from the crystallized storm itself. The bases of the stones trapped the dark abyss of the sea floor, rising into brilliant ocean-blue currents churned with clouds of frothing white crests. To honor the blood and bronze fittings of his crew's flagship, Vane etched the facets with numbers painted in shimmering metallic copper-red.
