Lore: The Shadow of the Witching Well
In the deep reaches of the Shadowfell, where forgotten magic pools like liquid twilight, sits the Witching Well—an ancient, submerged ley line intersection shrouded in dark purple waters and dusted with bioluminescent spores.
It was carved by a coven of night hags who sought to channel the essence of toxic growth and necrotic magic. By submerging dark quartz into the well's glowing, murky depth, they crystallized the murky purple abyss and infused it with the shimmering golden dust of corrupted ley lines.
To seal the unstable necrotic magic inside, an arch-drow herbalist etched containment runes into each facet, inlaying them with vibrant emerald venom-ink that pulses against the shadowy core.
Item Properties & Flavor
- The Dark Core: Inside the crystal, deep abyssal purple swirls against murky smoky clouds and sparkling bronze-gold dust, mirroring the toxic depths of the Witching Well.
- The Venom-Green Inking: The sharp, bright green numbers act as sealing runes. They glow like toxic flora cut directly from the Underdark's most lethal caverns.
- In-Game Legend: Ideal for warlocks forged in dark pacts, necromancers, shadow monks, or rogues who strike from the dark. Rolling these dice feels like pulling a secret directly out of the gloom—a subtle reminder that true power often lurks in the shadows.
"Beware what grows in the dark; it rarely hungers for light." — Malakor, Drow Shadow Weaver
