The Stones of the Gloomwood Nexus

Where the sunlit canopy of the Feywild collides with the oppressive, suffocating darkness of the Shadowfell lies the Gloomwood Nexus. In this liminal frontier, lush mosses and shimmering spores fight an eternal, desperate war against reaching tendrils of void-mist and necrotic corruption.

Centuries ago, an archmage named Malakor set out to bridge the gap between vitality and decay. At the exact boundary line where living flora met the deathly mists, he placed seven sharp-cut prisms forged from starlight glass. Casting a grand spell to bind both realms at once, Malakor watched as the top of each crystal drank in the brilliant, glittering green of enchanted moss and floating spores, while the base bled into churning, swirling clouds of shadowy violet and white necromantic fog.

The silver runes etched into each face were inked with true moon-silver, designed to safely channel both primal life force and decay without destroying the caster’s mind.

Known to planar travelers as the Stones of the Gloomwood Nexus, these relics are sought after by Spore Circle Druids, Shadow Magic Sorcerers, and Necromancers who walk the fine line between life and death.

  • The D4 (The Shard of Spores): Represents the sharp prick of toxic foliage, inflicting lingering decay.
  • The D6 (The Veilstone): Shields the wielder within swirling shadow, making them untrackable in dark corners.
  • The D8 & D10s (The Blightblooms): Harness the duality of growth and wither, siphon vital force from foes to nourish allies.
  • The D12 (The Void Canopy): Chaddels the absolute silence of the Shadowfell to deaden sound and suppress harmful magic.
  • The D20 (The Nexus Core): Traps the shifting balance of both planes; a roll of fate decides whether life flourishes or decay claims the realm.
