With swirling murky sea-greens, misty sand-hued clouds, pops of fiery orange coral, and deep indigo numbers, this set resembles an uncharted reef hidden beneath rolling ocean currents. Let's call them The Sunken Trench.
The Legend of the Sunken Trench
Far off the coast of the Stormwreck Isles lies the Drowned Citadel, an ancient sunken kingdom swallowed by a cataclysmic tidal wave centuries ago. At its center rested the Tide-Mother’s Heart—a massive orb of luminescent aquamarine, encircled by living orange sea flora and protected by deep-sea sirens.
When the kingdom sank into the abyssal depths, the crushing water pressure and lingering sea magic did not destroy the artifact. Instead, the relic shattered, its glowing green mineral core breaking into shards as swirling seafloor sands, trapped sea-fire spores, and dark ocean currents enveloped the pieces.
An adventurous Marid elemental later gathered these crystallized ocean relics from the seafloor bed. Using condensed abyssal ink, the elemental etched sharp blue numbers into each polished face, binding the weight and mystery of the ocean depths into seven sacred stones.
Campaign Mechanics & Flavor
- Abyssal Current (Nat 20): Rolling a critical success causes the swirling sea-foam and emerald swirls to catch the light sharply. The player gains a surge of aquatic momentum, granting them a temporary swim speed equal to their walking speed (or a +10 ft boost to existing swim speed) until the end of their next turn.
- Crushing Depth (Nat 1): A critical failure causes the interior of the die to appear dark and murky. The roller experiences a sudden feeling of suffocating pressure, reducing their movement speed by 5 feet on their next turn as the weight of the deep ocean anchors them down.
- Ideal Classes: Perfectly tailored for a Fathomless Warlock, Coastal Druid, Tempest Cleric, Swashbuckler Rogue, or any character bound to the mysteries of the high seas and oceanic depths.
